JOB DUTIES: 

• Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests, identify worn and damaged parts. 
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and make repairs to equipment. Brakes, power and drive trains, electrical, suspension, air conditioning, fuel, emission, steering hydraulics. 
• Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives, adjusting controls and systems. 
• Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements for inspection. 
• Contain costs by evaluating service and parts options. 
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, staying current in the field by reading technical and regulations publications. 
• Enhance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring value add to job accomplishments. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

• High School graduate 
• Post secondary vocation education preferred 
• 3 to 4 years of diesel mechanic experience 
• PA state inspection license, Class 7 
• Class A CDL license preferred 
• Minimum tool requirement 
• Experience with diagnostic software preferred
• Experience with hydraulic systems preferred 
• Good communication skills; ability to effectively work with a broad range of people 
• Adept with technology; familiar with electronic scan tool 

Experience: 

• Diesel Mechanic: 3 years (Required) 

License/Certification:

Job Summary: Responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing customer vehicles.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Perform inspections, diagnoses, maintenance, and repairs on customer vehicles following established company policy and procedures.
• Identify problems with vehicles using the diagnostic equipment.
• Communicate and explain technical aspects of repairs and issues to customers when asked by Service Advisor/Manager.
